# Overview

Integral to the interchain application ecosystem is the need for a natively portable ERC20-like tokens. Not all economic opportunity is necessarily interchain: for example, Lido’s existence depends on Ethereum. But, for applications and protocols that seek to unlock interchain value, governance and other applications responsibilities can be delegated via natively portable interchain tokens.

We focus on creating secure, easy-to-use assets with:

* **Security**
  * *Consistency and fungibility*: Each token is the same across all chains, avoiding any confusion about its value or nature.
  * *Control for issuers*: Token issuers decide which bridges to use and can set specific risk parameters to keep their assets safe without being tied to our platform.
* **Usability**
  * *Flexible liquidity*: Bridging doesn’t require new liquidity; it natural flows as you expand to new chains.
  * *Smooth integration*: Tokens can interact across chains without any issues, fitting seamlessly into the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem.

This approach gives you control over your token's security and usability while facilitating smooth transfers between blockchains. Let’s dive into how this works.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.fabriq.network/universal-asset-issuance/overview.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
